يعرض هذا الكتاب حياة المؤلف وخبرته في مجال السينما الصادر عن المؤسسة العامة للسينما حيث يغوص الفنان عكاوي في تفاصيل من همومه الجميلة الشخصية مع المونتاج فيؤكد في كتابه أنني سأحاول أن أوجز تجربتي وخبرتي المكتسبة على مدى ما يقارب من خمسين عاما في مجال الفن السابع (السينما) كما سأحاول أن أضمنه معظم الإجابات التي كنت أقولها وأشرحها لأصدقائي في تلك الجلسات الحميمية وبعض المحاضرات المتفرقة التي كنت ألقيها هنا وهناك في مدن العالم.
