الكتاب عبارة عن رحلة قام بها وفد من أعيان تريم وسيؤن بقيادة الزعيم أبي بكر بن شيخ الكاف إلى الشحر والمكلا لاستقبال عميد الأسرة الكافية السيد عبد الرحمن بن شيخ الكاف القادم من سنغافورة سنة 1350هـ وكذلك لعقد مباحثات مع الدولة القعيطية في شأن صلاح حضرموت وهذا الكتاب يوثق لهذه الرحلة بأسلوب أدبي رائع يستهوي القارئ ويوثق لتلك الرحلة وما جرى فيها من معاناة وحوادث ومباحثات واتفاقيات وصور وغير ذلك.
