جاء هذا الكتاب في ستة فصول كان الفصل الأول عبارة عن نظرة على في تحليل النظم ومجالات التحليل والهدف من التحليل وأسباب التحليل وما هي صفات المحلل ومن ثم استعراض دورة حياة نظم المعلومات المحاسبية أما الفصل الثاني فقد جاء لبيان المداخل المختلفة لإنشاء نظم المعلومات المحاسبية سواء أكان المدخل الجامد أو المداخل المعتمدة على مستخدم محدد أو المدخل المهيكل أو المدخل التطويري أما الفصل الثالث فقد ناقش دورة حياة النظم حيث قام بمناقشة المرحلة الأولى وهي تحديد مجال مشروع نظم المعلومات المحاسبية والمرحلة الثانية وهي فحص النظام والمرحلة الثالثة تحليل البيانات وبناء النموذج المنطقي أما الفصل الرابع فقد ناقش تحليل النظم وهيكل نظام الرقابة وكذلك فحص النظم التي تم انشائها أما الفصل الخامس ناقش تصميم نظم المعلومات المحاسبة ومبادئ التصميم ومراحل التصميم وكيفية بناء النظام أما الفصل السادس فقد ناقش التنفيذ والتشغيل المبدئي ومتابعة النظام وتقيميه بالتفصيل.
