يتكون هذا الكتاب من عشرة فصول يتناول الفصل الأول منه مقدمة عامة في الحسابات القومية وتوازن الدخل القومي والثاني يتناول محددات الطلب الكلي في حين يتعرض الفصل الثالث لتوازن الدخل القومي ومفهوم المضاعف والفصل الرابع النقود والبنوك في أسواق المال أما الفصلين الخامس والسادس فيتناولان السياسات النقدية والمالية ومشكلتي التضخم والبطالة وقد خصص كل من الفصلين السابع والثامن لتحليل نموذج التوازن الكلي وتحليل منحنيا الطلب الكلي والعرض الكلي ويتناول الفصل التاسع مفهوم ونظريات التجارة الدولية أما الفصل العاشر والأخير فقد تناول مشكلة التنمية الاقتصادية في الدول النامية.
