أما بعد : اتسعت في الفترة الأخيرة عملية التعامل مع الإحصاء بشكل عام، وكذلك مع النظرية الإحصائية وتوزيعاتها بشكل خاص، مما دعا إلى ظهور الأهمية الكبيرة لموضوع الإحصاء الرياضي، إذ أصبح له تطبيقات كثيرة ومتعددة في مختلف مجالات الحياة، وأصبح هذا الموضوع يدرس في مختلف دور العلم من مدارس ومعاهد وجامعات، وبسبب أهميته والحاجة الماسة إليه من قبل طلبتنا الأعزاء، لذا قمت بوضع هذا الكتاب، وحاولت أن أغني الموضوع ببعض المصادر المهمة، إذ تناولت أمثلة كثيرة في كل فصل لاغناء وتوضيح ما ورد من تعاريف أو نظريات أو أساليب حل. كما وضعت في نهاية كل فصل عددا من التمارين لمساعدة الطالب في التدريب على المواضيع ولتحسين قدرته على فهم هذه المادة.
