أصدر الكاتب محمد الشنتوف كتاب عبارة عن (سيرة ذاتية) تحت عنوان : \"تائه في دروب الذاكرة\"، ويقول الشنتوف في تصريح ل“ كليك نيوز“: بعدما أنهيت مشواري التربوي النبيل، أحسست بفراغ زمني كبير مثقل بالملل والضجر، يؤزم نفسي ويعقد روحي من حين لآخر، فخفت أن يذبل فكري ويضعف رصيدي المعرفي ويشل عقلي، فشحذت إرادتي وقويت عزيمتي لمقاومته”. ويتابع الشنتوف : ”بحثت عن الوسيلة، فلم أجد أفضل من انشغالي بالكتابة، فاخترت كتابة سيرتي الذاتية التي جرت وقائعها في رحاب قبيلة بني عروس وتطوان والدار البيضاء ولطنجة منذ سنة 1947م إلى غاية 2005م، فوجدت في كتابتها متعتي الكبيرة ولذتي العارمة لا سيما بعدما أوجبت على نفسي أن أكون صادقا في سرد وقائعها وصريحا في حكي تفاصيلها كما وقعت. لتكون ذاكرة مشوقة مثيرة لاهتمام القارئ عله يجد فيها استمتاعا لنفسه وعقله وقت خلوته ووحدته، ومواعظ وعبرا تفيده في مسار حياته.
