رياضة التنس هي واحدة من الرياضات الأكثر شعبية في العالم، انطلقت من فرنسا وبريطانيا ومنهما انتشرت إلى باقي دول العالم، يتبارى فيها المتنافسون بإرسال كرة صغيرة باستخدام المضارب فوق شبكة توضع في وسط الملعب. وهي رياضة تقوم على المنافسة بين لاعبين اثنين في رياضة التنس الفردي أو بين أربعة لاعبين في رياضة التنس الزوجي، تقوم على تبادل كرة صغيرة بين الخصمين بوساطة مضارب خاصة تسمى مضرب التنس، ويتم تسجيل النقاط فيها لكل طرف ولا يمكن أن تنتهي المباراة بالتعادل.
