الكتاب عبارة عن مجموعة من الوثائق القديمة من تاريخ بلاد غامد وزهران في منطقة الباحة حاليا، وهي معاهدات ومراسلات واتفاقات بين شيوخ القبائل في المنطقة من 1695 ميلادي إلى تقريبا الوقت الحالي. وتاريخ الوثائق يمر بالحكم العثماني، وقتال حاكم عسير عائض آل مرعي مع اشراف مكة من نزاعهم على المنطقة، وايضا هزيمة الأتراك على يد غامد وزهران والحكم القصير الأجل للإمام الإدريسي في صبيا إلى المعارك بين شريف مكة وآل سعود وانتصار الأخير وتوحيد المملكة العربية السعوديةـ كل هذه الأحداث مذكورة في الوثائق مع ذكر منازعات القبائل والقرى أنذاك والتي تمكن المؤلف من جمعها وهي ذا قيمة تاريخية لا يستهان بها في معرفة تاريخ وأحداث المنطقة.
