كان صدور الملف العراقي في المنفى تجربة لعمل فكري وسياسي حر اعتمد الرأي والرأي الآخر من جهة وتوثيق الشأن العراقي من جهة ثانية. صدر العدد الأول بتاريخ كانون الأول 1991 في لندن واستمر من دون توقف إلى حزيران 2003 أي بعد صدور 138 عددا، عمل خلال تلك الفترة على توثيق الشأن العراقي وبالذات المعارضة العراقية ليصبح اليوم المصدر الأساس لتلك الحقبة من تاريخ العراق.
