كتاب \"في حوار هادئ مع محمد الغزالي\" تأليف سلمان العودة... هذا الكتاب كان لمناقشة المنهج العقلي للغزالي الذي دخلت كتبه إلى مكتبات العامة بسبب لغتها المبسطة، وبسبب المواقف المشرفة للغزالي. فهو من وقف في الثمانينيات في وجه جيهان السادات عندما حاولت تقييد تعدد الزوجات بمشروع قانون. كما أنه رغم خصومته الشديدة للإخوان المسلمين في الخمسينيات، لم يقبل بأن توظف خصومته إعلاميا في عهد عبد الناصر. الخلافات كانت حتما حول النقاب، وتولي المرأة المناصب القيادية، وحكم الغناء... إلى آخر تلك المسائل التي لها طابع اجتماعي، تثير اهتمام كل عامي بالطبع. وقد برع سلمان العودة في إظهار هذا المنهج العقلي الذي لا يمكن أن ينضبط في قاعدة محكمة. وكان لكتاب السنة بين أهل الفقه وأهل الحديث نصيب طيب من كتاب سلمان.
