يتناول الكتاب الحضارة الإسلامية حيث أنها ثقافة وفن وعمران لقد ولدت الحضارة الإسلامية بعزيمة الرعيل الأول من حملة الإسلام، وترعرعت ونشأت فيما بعد مستقطبة جغرافية مترامية الأطراف لا تغيب عنها الشمس، وكان مظهرها الخارجي يتبلور عبر الدولة الجامعة لكل تلك الأراضي تحت راية وعلم موحد، ومع أن الدولة الجامعة قد انفرط عقدها وتفرق المسلمون إلى ما يقارب سبعا وخمسين دولة إلا أن الشخصية المسلمة وعلى الرغم من قلة إحاطتها العلمية بتاريخها الحضاري فهي ما زالت فخورة بحضارتها الإسلامية ومعتزة بماضيها المجيد، ورغبة منا في خدمة الأجيال المتلاحقة وفتح عيونها على ماضيها المجيد.
