أقدم كاتب مغربي في أواسط العشرينات من عمره على مغادرة عمله بإحدى الصحف المغربية كـ«صحافي متعاون» زهيد الأجر، ليتحول إلى مهاجر سري في إسبانيا، ويمارس أعمالا مضنية، متنقلا من مكان إلى آخر مخافة الوقوع في قبضة الشرطة التي لا تفتأ تتعقب أقرانه ممن يعملون من دون عقد عمل ولا وثائق إقامة، ويحلمون برفاه لا وجود له إلا في مخيلاتهم، تشرد أسفر عن كتاب أشبه بالمذكرات، بيع كأرغفة الخبز الساخن، وأعيدت طباعته أخيرا، ليتلقفه القراء وكأنه كتب للتو، كتب رشيد نيني «يوميات مهاجر سري»، على شكل مذكرات أثناء مقامه في إسبانيا فيما بين 1997 و2000، حيث كان يبعث بها بواسطة البريد أو الفاكس لتنشر تباعا على صفحات جريدة «العلم»
