مما لا بد أن يتبادر إلى الذهن مسبقا، بأن تاريخ قبيلة الجحيش الزبيدية القحطانية العريقة يعود إلى الفترة الذهبية من انبثاق شجرة الأنساب والأغصان الزبيدية التي تفرعت بدافع النمو والتكاثر من شجرة قبيلة زبيد الأم الكبرى القحطانية اليمانية، وهي بذلك أقدم وأسبق التفرعات فيها تكاثرا وتوسعا وانتشارا بحيث أخذت هي الأخرى شكل قبيلة كبرى لها كيانها المميز وهذا الكتاب \"قبيلة جحيش\" تناول البحث بقبيلة من قبائل العرب ببطونها المختلفة، فبين درجة الاهتمام الذي أبداه العرب بوجه عام ومؤرخوا هذه القبيلة بوجه خاص وهو جهد جدير بالإعجاب من جهة، وبالاهتمام من جهة أخرى وسيسهم برفد المكتبة العربية بنتاج وموروث يضاف إلى ما اكتنزته تلك المكتبة من نفائس أدبية وعلمية بشتى الاختصاصات والشؤون.
