نشهد اليوم تطورا غير مسبوق للعلم يترافق مع انهيار دراماتيكي للثقافة. للمرة الأولى في تاريخ الإنسانية يتباعد العلم والثقافة في مواجهة وجودية حتى الموت، انفجار علمي مقابل خراب الانسان. لا ينادي الكاتب بزوال العلم إنما بزوال الأيديولوجيا المرافقة له بعدما صار العلم همجية منذ اللحظة التي نسي أنه هو نفسه شكل من الثقافة. ويحاول عبر تأملات فلسفية أن يعيد الحياة إلى الوثبة الأولى للعلم مبينا الفعل الثقافي المؤسس له. هي همجية من نوع جديد تخترق مجتمعنا وتؤدي إلى تدميره، فهل يمكن التغلب عليها ؟ هل مجتمع بلا ثقافة ممكن ؟
