يعد كتاب الكتاب الأحمر من أهم كتب السيرة الذاتية الشخصية غير الاعتيادية فهو يتناول السيرة الذاتية الروحية لمؤلفه العالم السويسري كارل يونغ ويعود سبب تسميه الكتاب بهذا الاسم إلى لون جلدة الكتاب الذي وضعت فيه هذه الأفكار والمدونات الخاصة ولم يقم العالم السويسري بتأليف هذا الكتاب بشكل مستقل ووضع اسم له كباقي الكتب والمؤلفات العلمية المنشورة له بل قامت أسرته بجمع محتويات هذا الكتاب بعد وفاته ووضعته في أحد المصارف السويسرية إلى أن تم إصداره عام 2009 وتهافتت آلاف الطلبات على اقتناء الكتاب الذي تمت طباعته باللغتين الألمانية والإنجليزية.‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪‪
