في هذه الرواية نحن أمام مشهدين متناقضين بين أقصى اليمين وأقصى اليسار، الفرق بينهما شاسع لا يقارن، مشهد الشر والطغيان والاستهتار والأحادية النزعة السياسية وتداعياتها الشريرة المؤلمة ونتائجها الكارثية، ومشهد الخير وما يحمله من نعم جميلة وحياة سعيدة للبشرية جمعاء. علينا نحن البشر كما تقول الرواية أن نسعى دائما جاهدين في حياتنا كي نصل إلى طريق الخير والسعادة، لأنه طريق استمرار بقائنا على هذا الكون وبقاء الكون سليما وجميلا. بعبارة ثانية كما تقول الرواية ليس أمامنا سوى هذين المشهدين .. مشهد الخير والسعادة والرفاه والبقاء الأزلي في إطار العمل الجماعي، ومشهد الشعور بالعظمة والانفراد بالسلطة والرأي والكلمة والسير في طريق مزروع بالألغام نهايته الدمار والفناء.
