تشير العديد من الدراسات إلى أن مشكلة العنف الطلابي من المشاكل الخطيرة التي تواجه المؤسسة التعليمية فهو يزداد حدة وانتشارا من عام لآخر كما أنه بات لا يقتصر على شريحة عمرية معينة، وإنما تخطى-في نطاقه-ليطال فئات عمرية عديدة أضف إلى ذلك أن مظاهره لا تنحصر في صور دون غيرها، وإنما تتسع لتشمل صورا عديدة منها ما هو موجه نحو الممتلكات المدرسية، ومنها ما هو موجه نحو الزملاء، ومنها ما هو موجه نحو المعلمين وأفراد الإدارة المدرسية ونظرا لما يترتب على سلوك العنف الطلابي من مخاطر تهدد عمليتي التعليم والتعلم، يتصدى الكتاب الحالي لتناول هذه المشكلة ببحث الأسباب التي تؤدي إليها وكيفية الحد منها.
