يتناول الكتاب مفاهيم اجتماعية معاصرة تحمل صيغة فكرية تحليلية نقدية شمولية مركبة لا يمكن الفصل بين أجزائها ؛ فهي مترابطة تشكل مجتمعة أنساقا اجتماعية ذي أبعاد فكرية تحليلية ترمي إلى معرفة ما تتضمنه تلك المجتمعات من مشاكل وما تحتويه من تحديات وما يتطلب من حلول واقعية معاصرة للتخفيف من حدة الأزمات التي تمر بها. عالجت في الكتاب مفاهيم عدة كان منها ما يتعلق بالإصلاح الاجتماعي، الوحدة الاجتماعية، المسؤولية الاجتماعية، والأخلاق، وكلها مفاهيم ذات صلة مباشرة بطبيعة المجتمعات، وكلها يحتاج إلى تفسيرات تحليلية منطقية تستمد روحها وفلسفتها من الواقع المعاش حتى يتم فهمها بطريقة عقلانية بعيدا عن التأويلات والتفسيرات اللامنطقية والمستمدة من الكلام العام.
