تحرص جامعة الإمام محمد بن سعود الإسلامية على تتبع آثار هؤلاء العلماء في مكتبات العالم، وجمع مصوراتها، وفهرستها، ووضعها بين أيدي الباحثين، رغبة منها في إحياء هذا التراث، بالتعريف به، ودراسته ونشر أمهات كتبه، حتى تقوم الدراسات الإسلامية والعربية المعاصرة على ركيزة ثابتة من تراثنا عبر القرون الماضية، وتتصل وشائج الحاضر الزاهر بالماضي المجيد، وهذا الفهرست هو ثاني عمل يصدره قسم المخطوطات، في مجال التعريف بالمخطوطات والمصورات التي تضمنتها مكتبته، وهو خاص بالمصاحف والتجويد والقراءات.
