يهدف هذا الكتاب إلى محاولة فهم حقيقة النظام المعرفي في الفكر الإسلامي المعاصر وتحليل بنية النظام المعرفي ومكوناته وعناصره وأسسه بغرض التوصل إلى مفهوم هذا النظام وتحديد طبيعته وكذلك الوقوف على علاقته بالنظام الاعتقادي وبمنظومة القيم للكشف عن العلاقة الوطيدة القائمة بينهما ثم بيان كلية ووحدة وبنائية هذا النظام في صورة نسقية تأبى انفصام المعرفة عن الاعتقاد والقيم ولهذا ركز المؤلف في هذا الكتاب على ما يلي عرض أهم المحاولات التي قدمت من طرف بعض رجالات الفكر الإسلامي المعاصر حول تعريف النظام المعرفي وبيان علاقة نظام الاعتقاد بالنسق المعرفي الإسلامي.
