كتاب جريء جدا وبحث عميق جدا وجديد على أسماع الكثير لفضيلة الشيخ محمود محمد طه وهو شيخ سوداني يعتني بروح الإسلام وله نظرة روحية للصلاة والصيام ومنها عرج إلى تفسيرات روحية قرآنية للآيات الخاصة بالصلاة والصوم وغيره من الأمر والإيمان أصل في العلم، وأصل في الدين بل الحقيقة أن العقل الذي يعرف قدر نفسه لا يمكن أن يرفض شيئا لمجرد أنه لا يجد العلم به، عتيدا عنده بل أن الواجب يقضي، إذا جهلنا شيء، أن نؤمن به، ريثما ينكشف لنا حقه من باطله وأما رفضنا إياه قبل ذلك، إنما يمثل جهلا بحقيقة أنفسنا، وينطوي على ادعاء كبير، إذ نجعل عقولنا حكما على الأشياء وهذا ما يحصل من أحدنا دائما. ولذلك فقد أصبحنا محتاجين إلى منهاج يروض العقول على التواضع، وعلى المحايدة، وعلي البراءة من الغرض.
