ليس هذا العمل سوى مساهمة في وضع لبنة في صرح النقد الموسيقي المصري المعاصر، ففي مصر المعاصرة يغيب النقد الموسيقي تماما، وهذا ليس أمرا مستعربا، وهاكم الدليل الصحف والمجلات والدوريات المصرية على كثرتها وتنوعها، هي بالضرورة إما أدبية أو شعرية مسرحية أو سينمائية، ثقافية أو اقتصادية أو سياسية، ليس بينها دورية موسيقية واحدة. وتمثلت أهم الجهود السابقة-الجاد منها-لإرساء النقد الموسيقي في : مجلة الموسيقى، ومجلة آفاق، وكتابات الدكتور حسين فوزي والدكتور فؤاد زكريا. وبداهة، لن ينشأ النقد الموسيقي العربي بالابتعاد عن القضايا الداخلية، وفي مقابل دعوة أستاذنا الكبير يحيى حقي : تعال معي إلى للكونسير، أوجه الدعوة للجميع للذهاب معا إلى قهوة بلدي لنسمع رائعة عبد المطلب \"كان وصلة جميل ... حلو يا محلاة\".
