يقدم لنا هذا الكتاب موشحات كثيرة يصعب العثور عليها مجتمعة في كتاب آخر، وقد ذكرها «ابن سناء الملك» كشواهد ليشرح بها نظريته، وكذلك فقد جمع المؤلف في هذا الكتاب، أكثر موشحاته. وتعتبر مقدمة الكتاب أهم قسم فيه، فهي تشرح لنا نظرية «ابن سناء الملك» في تأليف الموشحات ونظمها، بل تشرح لنا قانون الموشحات بشكل عام، وقد حاول في هذا الكتاب «دار الطراز» أن يحدد قواعد هذا الفن الشعري ويبين خصائصه، وطرق نظمه وأوزانه، فكان بذلك الشاعر الأول المنظم لقواعد الموشح في المشرق كما في المغرب.
