ينقسم هذا الكتاب إلي خمسة فصول تناول الفصل الأول عن سر دالات العلاقة بين شعرية الزمان وتركيب ذلك على النظام في بؤرة التراتب وتناول القصل الثاني يدرس الاستلزام الخطابي إذ إنه الأساس الذي ينتظم عليه الحدث الكلامي وجاء في الفصل الثالث المبادىء التداولية في التأسيس والتأصيل لأبرز القوانين التداولية الفاعلة التي تعنى بالكفاءة اللسانية أي معرفة المتكلم باشتغال لغته وكان الفصل الرابع قد اهتم بمسألة أن إنجازية التفوه التداولية ليس انقلابا فكريا بل هي فكرة إشارية تعنى بوجه الاستعمال الظاهري لدلالة الحوار أما الفصل الخامس فقد بحث في فكرة المقاصد التداولية بأنواع مؤلفاتها الحوارية.
