Overview
تبدأ الأحداث بإقامة اللورد كابيوليت، كبير عائلة كابيوليت، حفلا، كان عبارة عن حفل عشاء ورقص كبير، وكان اللورد كريما بشدة لدرجة أنه قال إن بإمكان أي شخص أن يحضره «ما عدا» أفراد عائلة مونتاجيو (بالطبع). لكن كان هناك عضو شاب من عائلة مونتاجيو يسمى روميو كان يريد بشدة أن يحضر الحفل لأن روزالين، الفتاة التي كان يحبها، طلب منها الذهاب إلى هناك. إن هذه الفتاة لم تكن تعامله على الإطلاق بود، ولم يكن لديه أي سبب لحبها، لكن الأمر أنه كان يريد أن يحب «أحدا»، وحيث إنه لم يقابل الفتاة المناسبة، فقد كان مجبرا على حب الفتاة غير المناسبة. لذا، ذهب إلى حفل كابيوليت الضخم، مع صديقيه ميركوشيو وبينفوليو.
