رحلة مشوقة في حقل الأدب المقارن تستقصي أوجه الشبه والاختلاف بين ناقدين وكتابين ومفهومين : فأما الناقدان فهما كاسيوس لونجين الذي ربما عاش في القرن الثالث بعد الميلاد وعمل مستشاراً للملكة الزباء في تدمر، وكتابه بالإغريقية في الجلال يعالج فيه شروط الكتابة العظيمة من خلال مفهوم الجلال أما الناقد الثاني فهو القاضي الجرجاني الذي عاش بعد ذلك بسبعة قرون وألف كتابه الوساطة بين المتنبي وخصومه وفيه يضع شروطاً للإبداع والتميز تقع ضمن مفهوم عمود الشعر ... وهناك تشابهات وتوازيات تلقي الضوء على مفاهيم جمالية إغريقية وعربية قد تمهد الطريق لدراسات مثمرة عن جوانب اللقاء والتفاعل الإنساني بين حضارتين رغم اختلافهما وصراعهما على مر العصور.
