يقع الكتاب في أحد عشر فصلا خصص الفصل الأول لدراسة ثلاثة موضوعات رئيسة هي نشأة الزراعة واستئناس الحيوان وانتشار المحاصيل الزراعية في العالم، ويعالج الفصل الثاني الجغرافيا الزراعية من حيث ماهيتها، ويتتبع الفصل الثالث بعض أساليب القياس الكمية المستخدمة في الجغرافيا الزراعية، ويعالج الفصل الرابع أهم العوامل الجغرافية المؤثرة في الزراعة، والفصل الخامس من الكتاب يتناول الزراعة من حيث المساحات المزروعة في العالم، وتبحث الفصول الست الأخيرة من الكتاب من الفصل السادس إلى الفصل الحادي عشر في أهم المحاصيل المزروعة في العالم بعد تصنيفها حسب طبيعتها كالحبوب الغذائية في الفصل السادس ومحاصيل السكر في السابع، ومحاصيل المنبهات في الثامن، ومحاصيل الزيت في التاسع، ومحاصيل الألياف في العاشر، وبعض المحاصيل ذات الأهمية الخاصة في الفصل الحادي عشر.
