Overview
يرصد الكتاب محطات مختلفة من حياة هدى شعراوى، والتى تعد من أبرز الناشطات المصريات فى مجال الاستقلال الوطنى المصرى، ولدت فى العام 1879، بمحافظة المنيا، وهى ابنة محمد سلطان باشا، رئيس المجلس النيابى الأول فى مصر فى عهد الخديو توفيق، تلقت التعليم فى منزل والدها، وتزوجت فى سن الثالثة عشرة من ابن عمتها على الشعراوى –الذى يكبرها بما يقارب الأربعين عاما – ليتغير اسم عائلتها لـ\"شعراوى\"، اسست جمعية لرعاية الأطفال عام 1907. وفى عام 1908 نجحت فى إقناع الجامعة المصرية بتخصيص قاعات للمحاضرات النسوية، شاركت فى قيادة مظاهرات ثورة 1919، وفى هذا الوقت قامت النساء اللاتى شاركن فى المظاهرات والمتزوجات من زعماء وفديين بتأسيس لجنة الوفد المركزية للسيدات، وانتخبت هدى شعراوى رئيسة لها.
