يثير المفكر عبد الجبار الرفاعي في كتابه الجديد (الدين والظمأ الأنطولوجي) أكثر من قضية إشكالية في التفكير الديني اليوم، أهملها الكثير من كتاب الأدبيات الإسلامية، إذ نجد المفاهيم والشعارات في هذه الأدبيات تتبادل الكلمات والعبارات ذاتها. وهي كلها كتابات مسكونة بالدعوة لتغيير العالم، في ضوء تفكير مبسط، يختزل المفاهيم المركبة بفهم وعظي مسطح، لا يمتلك أدوات ومهارات الحفر في طبقات المجتمع، ولا يستند إلى كشوفات العلوم والمعارف البشرية الحديثة، ومعطياتها البالغة الأهمية في التعرف على طبقات النفس البشرية، ونسيج العلاقات الاجتماعية، وفاعليات التغيير، وعوامله المرئية وغير المرئية.
