الكتاب يتحدث عن التماس إعادة النظر وهو إجراء قانوني يتم القيام به بهدف إعادة النظر في القضايا التي صدر بشأنها أحكاما انتهائية، استنادا إلى وقائع وإثباتات لم تكن مقرونة بالقضية منذ البداية، ولم يتم العثور عليها إلا بعد صدور الحكم الملتمس فيه، وتنظر أمام ذات المحكمة التي سبق وأن أصدرت الحكم، والتي من أخصها، إذا وقع من الخصم أو وكيله غش كان من شأنه التأثير في الحكم، إذا أقر الخصم بعد الحكم بتزوير الأوراق التي بني عليها، أو إذا بني الحكم على شهادة زور، وإلى غيرهم من باقي حالات التماس إعادة النظر المنصوص عليهما على سبيل الحصر بالمادتين 441 من قانون الإجراءات الجنائية، 241 من قانون المرافعات.
