وضع المؤلف هذا الكتاب لطلبتي في مادة \"الترجمة الأدبية\"، كأن يضعه لأطفال ناشئين، كما لأناس لا يعرفون شيئا عن المسألة المطروحة هنا وهي \"الترجمة\". فكم بيضت السبورة بالمفاهيم والمصطلحات والأعلام والمقابلات اللغوية. لكن تبين لي أن ذلك مجرد \"حماقة تربوية\" لا تقدم سوى المعارف الباهتة. وكم توخ تبسيط القضايا والمسائل والنصوص، لكن دون جدوى، كأن الريح تذهب بكل شيء بحيث لا يعود. فقرر المؤلف في الأخير تقديم كتيب عاقل من الناحية التربوية، واضح إلى حد ما، إذ لم أتخل فيه عن المحتويات المعقدة لما هو معقد. حاولت طرح الأسئلة تلو الأخرى عن الترجمة كي يكثر المتسائلون ويكثروا من التساؤل. إن الترجمة استبدادية، لذلك وجب جعلها علمية في أعين طلبتنا.
