لقد ارتبط الموال الزهيري بقطر ومنطقة الخليج إبان عصر الغوص على اللؤلؤ، ارتباطا وثيقا حيث عبر إنسان المنطقه به عن ذاته، ورسم بقالبه المعروف معاناة أبناء مجتمعه وجيله الكادح في تلك الحقبة، مصورا تلك الحياة وما تحمله من متاعب شظف العيش وقسوة الطبيعة وسوء الأوضاع الاقتصادية كما سجل مبدع الزهيري الأحوال الاجتماعية السائدة التي سيجتها الفطرة السليمة لإنسان هذه المنطقة وأواصر القربى الحميمة والوازع الديني القوي، حيث ارتبط المجتمع حينذاك برباط اجتماعي وجداني متين مع ما أسلفنا من منغصات لم تكن لتمنع ذلك الإنسان من ممارسة حياته بشكل طبيعي وسوي.
