هذا الكتاب كتب على مدى أربع سنوات من أفكار سامة كانت تهرب إلى الرأس في أوقات غير سهلة ... ثم أضيف إليها مقدمتان لكتابي الهاجريون والجمل وجدنا أنها أكثر انسجاما مع المراثي من غيرها ... وأثرنت ألا تعدل أو تغير شيئا فكل ؛ فكرة تصبح ملك اللحظة ، واللحظة هي جزء من أبدية ؛ هذا كتاب مجنون شكلا وموضوعا وفي عالمنا الذي يعيش كطفيلي على تخوم الجنون - ماذا يفيد العقل ؟ هذا كتاب لن يعجب أحدا : ما همني إذا أعجب أو لم يعجب ما يهمني هو أن أقول ما أحس به كلهم يعاتبونني كوني أمضي الصفحات متنقلا من بحث إلى بحث، ومن محاضرة موضوعية إلى محاضرة موضوعية أخرى، لكني لم أكتب يوما ما أؤمن به، لم أقدم ذاتي في عمل يختصر الذات وكان بعضهم يعزو ذلك إلى نوع من الجبن متأصل.
