جاءت فكرة توثيق مذكراتي الشخصية لجعلها متوفرة لكل من يرغب من الأجيال القادمة لمعرفة قصة فرد كويتي مر بتجربة صعبة أثناء الغزو العراقي على دولة الكويت، هي توثيق لمواقف وأحداث مختلفة ومن أهمها إستلام مساعدات مالية من أصدقاء الدراسة في الولايات المتحدة وكذلك من صديق عراقي كان يسكن مع عائلته في مكة المكرمة وأنا كنت أحمل لتلك العائلة صدقات من أهل الكويت في كل مرة أذهب لأداء مناسك العمرة، لقد قبلت كل تلك المساعدات كديون ثم سددتها لهم بعد تحرير الكويت، إنها تجربة فريدة و هي التحول خلال عدة أيام من طالب دراسات عليا مدني إلى متطوع برتبة رقيب في الجيش الأمريكي يواجه مصير مجهول في الحرب، قضيت شهرين ونصف ضمن مجموعة قوامها 18 طالب كويتي حيث روح الأخوة والإيثار كانت سائدة بيننا حتى تم تسريحنا، ثم بقيت ذكرياتنا شاهدة على ذلك.
