اعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي واستخدام أداة الاستبيان على عينة من 120 نزيلة من نزيلات مركز الإصلاح والتأهيل للنساء وتم استخدام أساليب الإحصاء الوصفي والتحليلي واستخدام التباين الأحادي، بناء على نتائج الدراسة تم صياغة عدد من التوصيات أهمها مراعاة الظروف القانونية والاجتماعية والقانونية للغارمات والأخذ بالعقوبات البديلة في التشريع الأردني بما يتوافق مع الخصائص الاجتماعية والاقتصادية والشخصية للغارمات.
