في كانون الثاني / يناير 1991، وفيما كانت قوات التحالف تباشر قصف بغداد، قررت الفنانة العراقية نهى الراضي أن تسجل يوميات الحياة كما غدت تعيشها ويعيشها المحيطون بها : الضجيج، الأقذار، الشك، اليأس والخوف. وبخفة ظل لافتة، يقتطف الكتاب ذاك الهبوط اليومي إلى سوية الحياة في القرون الوسطى لملايين المدنيين العراقيين. هذه الشهادية الفريدة بمثابة مادة طازجة عن حياة الناس العاديين في بغداد خلال قصف 1991 والحصار التالي.
