في هذا الكتاب تحديد واضح لخط ووجهة نظر الجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين فيما يخص أزمة الثورة الفلسطينية وتحديد جذورها وإيجاد الحلول لها كما عبر عنها أمينها العام الدكتور جورج حبش في ثلاث ندوات دعا إليها الاتحاد العام للكتاب والصحافيين الفلسطينيين، كانت إحداها أثناء احتدام الاقتتال الفلسطيني-الفلسطيني في البقاع وشمال لبنان. والثانية بعد خروج ياسر عرفات من طرابلس وزيارته للقاهرة، هذه الزيارة التي شكلت منعطفا خطيرا في الساحة الفلسطينية. والثالثة كانت بعد توقيع اتفاق ۱۱ شباط بين الملك حسين وياسر عرفات هذا الاتفاق الذي شكل بداية انخراط القيادة الرسمية لـ م . ت . ف . في الحلول الإمبريالية الأميركية المرسومة للمنطقة، كما كان له انعكاسات جدية وخطيرة على مجمل الساحة الفلسطينية والعربية وعلى مجمل عملية الصراع العربي الصهيوني.
