إن موضوع العبادة موضوع خطير يترتب على فهمه أمور خطيرة جدا أيضا، لذلك سلطت الضوء عليه لكشف جميع ما يكتنف به من ملابسات. فالعبادة هي الغاية التي خلق الإنسان من أجلها \" وما خلقت الجن و الإنس إِلا ليعبدون\". فبتعريفها لغة وشرعا ينضبط على أساس ذلك موضوعان لا يقلان أهمية عنها وهما : موضوع الكفر وموضوع الشرك، هذان المفهومان اللذان أصبحا موضة في عصرنا، فحيث ما كنت أو ذهبت في البلاد الإسلامية ؛ تجد الحركات الإسلامية والجمعيات الإسلامية تلصق ببعضها البعض تهم التكفير أو التبديع أو الشرك فإذا كان سباب المسلم كقتله فما ظنك بتكفيره أو وصفه بالشرك؟! لذلك أؤكد على أن هذين المفهومين لهما علاقة وثيقة بفهم أبعاد العبادة الشرعية وحدودها، فمن وسع مفهومها وجعلها تشمل.
