هذه ترجمة كاملة للأطروحة التى حصل بها الباحث السويدى تيتز رووكى على درجه الدكتوراه فى الأدب العربى من جامعة ستوكهولم 1997، والتى تتناول مرحلة الطفولة كما عبر عنها عدد من المبدعين العرب، عندما كتبوا سيرتهم الذاتية مثل طه حسين عام (1929)، وفدوى طوقان عام (1985). يقدم الباحث دراسات حاله لعشرين عملا، كما يستخدم عددا من النصوص المنشورة بعد ذلك كمراجع لأطروحته.
