\"كتاب العاقبة\" للإمام الحافظ عبد الحق بن عبد الرحمن الإشبيلي، من تحقيق أبي عبد الله محمد حسن إسماعيل، هو كتاب في الوعظ والإرشاد والرقائق تكلم فيه مصنفه عن الموت وأحواله والقبر وأحواله ويوم القيامة من بعث وحشر وحساب وجنة ونار وأمور أخرى تتعلق بهذا الموضوع موردا في ذلك آيات وأحاديث كثيرة وأقوال الصالحين وأشعارهم ضمن أبواب عديدة وهذه طبعة محققة تحقيقا هاما، وإن الكلام في ذكر الموت لهو أبلغ في الموعظة، فإن من ذكر الموت حقيقة ذكره نقض عليه لذته الحاضرة، ومنعه في تمنيها في المستقبل، وزهده فيما كان منها يؤمل، ولكن النفوس الراكدة، والقلوب الغافلة، تحتاج إلى تطويل الوعاظ. وفي هذا الكتاب جملة كافية مما ورد في الموت ومما يعين على ذكره والفكرة فيه وذكر الصالحين للموت وكلامهم عن نزوله مع كلام المغترين والجهلة المخدوعين وما وراءه من السؤال والحساب، والثواب والعقاب.
