يتناول هذا الكتاب قصة حياة عبد الرحمن الداخل \"صقر قريش\" بقلم المؤلف انطوني فون آيزن مترجما باللغة العربية حيث تم نقل الكتاب من اللغة الانكليزية الى العربية بكل تفصيلاتها من مولده حتى وفاته على شكل قصة لها ابطالها وشخصياتها واحداثها بأسلوب أدبي رائع. حيث إنه عبد الرحمن بن معاوية بن هشام بن عبد الملك بن مروان الأموي دخل من بني امية أرض الأندلس. فبعد انهيار دولة الأمويين في الشام، وقيام دولة بني العباس في بغداد على يد أبي العباس السفاح بدأ العباسيون حملة إبادة بالقتل وسفك الدماء، بغية إفناء الأمويين، لكن عبد الرحمن أفلت من قبضة السفاح وهو ابن خمس وعشرين سنة رغم مطاردة أنصار السفاح له، إذ رمى بنفسه إلى نهر الفرات فعبره سباحة إلى الضفة الأخرى.
