يتناول كتاب (معرفة القراء الكبار على الطبقات والأعصار) والذي قام بتأليفه الإمام شمس الدين أبي عبد الله الذهبي، موضوع (تراجم) هذا الكتاب في علم التراجم، إذ يحتوي على تراجم للمشهورين من القراء الأعيان الكبار، أصحاب الإسناد والإتقان مبتدئا بالصحابة الذين عرضوا قراءتهم على رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، ثم الذين عرضوا قراءتهم على من سبق صحابة كانوا أو تابعين ثم بالتابعين ثم بمن يليهم. يذكر اسم المقرىء ونسبه ومكانته وقراءته ووفاته. وهذه طبعة محققة وعليها تعليقات مفيدة تخدم موضوع الكتاب.
