كتاب التمييز للإمام مسلم قصد بها الإمام مسلم بن الحجاج القشيري النيسابوري بهذا الكتاب تمييز خطأ المخطئين من الرواة من صواب المصيبين فمراده ذكر الروايات التي وقع فيها غلط في السند أو في المتن. فصارت تلك الأحاديث عند أهل العلم في عداد الغلط والخطأ، ببيان شاف يبينه المؤلف لنا، حتى يتضح لنا ولغيرنا غلط من غلط وصواب من أصاب منهم فيها. ومما يمتاز به هذا الكتاب النفيس أيضا، أن الإمام مسلما ينظر للمسألة ثم يسوق علل الأحاديث الواقعة تحت تلك المسألة، فالكتاب يشتمل على التنظير والتطبيق العملي مما يسهل الإفادة من الكتاب.
