هذه الرسالة (حسن المقصد في عمل المولد) هي من الرسائل النادرة، وهي من جملة مؤلفات العلامة الحافظ جلال الدين السيوطي. وقد كتب السيوطي هذه الرسالة في تحسين عمل المولد النبوي الشريف، والرد على من أفتى بتحريمه وإبتداعه مستشهدا لذلك بالأحاديث النبوية، والحجج العلمية، والأحاديث التاريخية، ونتيجة ما دار عليه بحثه أن عمل المولد الذي هو اجتماع الناس وقراءة ما تيسر من القرآن الكريم، ورواية الأخبار الواردة من مبدأ أمر رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم. وما وقع في مولده من الآيات، وما يقوم به الناس-خلال ذلك-من إطعام الطعام والتصدق على الفقراء والمحتاجين وغيرها من القربات وفعل الحسنات ثم ينصرفون من غير زيادة على ذلك، من البدع الحسنة التي يثاب عليها صاحبها لما فيه من تعظيم قدر النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وإظهار الفرح والاستبشار بمولده الشريف.
