إن من أشرف ما تصرف فيه الأوقات والهمم والجهود، وتفنى فيه الأعمار كتاب الله عز وجل، والعيش في كنف ظلاله، وإن كتاب \"الشمعة في انفراد الثلاثة عن السبعة\" للإمام عثمان بن عمر الناشري الزبيدي يتعلق بأشرف علم، فهو متصل بأداء القرآن، وإن صاحبه عثمان بن عمر الناشري من تلامذة الإمام الجليل المحقق المدقق ابن الجزري، وهو عالم جليل من علماء أهل اليمن. وعليه كان اعتناء المحقق بهذا الكتاب والذي جاءت دراسته فيه موزعة على قسمين : القسم الأول : (الدراسة) واشتمل على مبحثين، خصص المبحث الأول منهما للتعريف بالمؤلف ومكانته العلمية. وكان المبحث الثاني للتعريف بالمؤلف، وموضوعه ومنهج المؤلف فيه، ونسبة الكتاب إلى مؤلفه وعنوانه، ووصف النسخ الخطية. أما القسم الثاني : (النص المحقق) فخصص لتحقيق النص على وفق قواعد التحقيق العلمي المتعارف عليها.
