يتناول كتاب (مسرح العرائس) والذي قام بتأليفه وفاء إبراهيم السبيل، موضوع (الطفل) الكتاب يؤكد حب الأطفال للعرائس (الدمى)، فهو أمر معروف لدى كل من يعيش مع الأطفال ويراقب سلوكهم، فهي واحدة من الوسائل التي يمكن من خلالها تسلية الطفل وتعليمه، واتاحة الفرصة لقدراته الخلاقة كي تنمو وتنشط، ونظرا للقيمة التربوية للعرائس فإن على المربين، أن يحرصوا على الاستفادة من هذه الوسيلة التعليمية البناءة في تقديم القصة عن طريق مسرح العرائس. وهذا الكتاب مقدم لهؤلاء المربين ليسهل عليهم استخدام العرائس وتوفيرها للأطفال بطرق متنوعة وجذابة. وقد بدأ الكتاب بمقدمة عن القصة ودورها في التربية، وعن مميزات وفوائد مسرح العرائس بالإضافة إلى إرشادات عامة للمربي عند استخدامه للعرائس كوسيلة تعليمية، أما الجزء الأخير من الكتاب فهو عبارة عن أفكار عملية لطرق إعداد المسرح والعرائس المتنوعة، وطرق العرض المختلفة.
