الوقت هو رأس المال : إن الوقت هو رأس مال العبد الذي يتاجر فيه مع الله، ويطلب به سعادة الدنيا والآخرة، وبقدر ما يفوت من هذا الوقت في غير طاعة وقربة بقدر ما يضيع على العبد من السعادة في الآخرة، وهذا الوقت ـ والله. أغلى من الذهب والفضة فإنه لا يشترى بمال ولا يسترجع بالآمال : عن الحسن قال : \"ما من يوم ينشق فجره إلا وينادي : يا بن آدم أنا يوم جديد، وعلى عملك شهيد، فاغتنمني فإني لا أعود إلى يوم القيامة\". القرآن والوقت : لقد اهتم القرآن بالوقت اهتماما عظيما : اهتم بالوقت حين أقسم الله به في كتابه : أقسم الله بالفجر وليال عشر، وأقسم بالصبح إذا تنفس، وأقسم الله بالضحى والليل إذا سجى، وأقسم بالعصر، وأقسم بالليل والله لا يقسم إلا بعظيم ؛ فهذا تنبيه منه على أهمية الوقت وعظم منزلته.
