Overview
على الرغم من مرور خمسين عاما على إنتاج أول فيلم روائي سوري المتهم البريء عام 1928، وعلى الرغم من وجود قطاع عام للسينما في سورية منذ عام 1963، فإن محاولات تقويم أو تأريخ أو توثيق فصول قصة السينما في سورية ما تزال شبه معدومة، باستثناء بعض الدراسات النقدية أو التوثيقية التي قام بها عدد من النقاد والمخرجين والمهتمين بشؤون السينما، وباستثناء كتاب رشيد جلال (قصة السينما في سورية، الذي طبعه المجلس الأعلى لرعاية الفنون والآداب والعلوم الاجتماعية في دمشق (صدر عام 1963) عن المحاولات والبدايات الأولى في الإنتاج السينمائي، وكتاب صلاح دهني و دعوة إلى السينما : الذي صدر في دمشق عام 1969.
