Overview
تاريخ بنوة في هذا الكتاب، يتطرق السينمائي كيجو يوشيدا إلى شخصية ياسو جيرو أوزو الذي يعتبر واحدا من كبار صناع السينما اليابانية إلى جانب أكيرا كوروساوا وكينجي ميزوغوشي وميكيو ناروس. إن روائع سينمائية من أمثال ربيع متأخر (1949) والرحلة إلى طوكيو (1953) ومذاق شراب الساكيه (1962)، جعلت من أوزو مخرج محلل الحميمية والعائلة وتبدلات الفصول واضطرابات الوجود اللامتناهية. يعتبر أوزو استاذا في نظر عدد من المخرجين المعاصرين مثل (هوهسياوهسين وآكي كوريسماكي وفيم فنديرز الذي قام بإخراج فيلم عنه بعنوان طوكيو- غا). يستعيد كيجو يوشيدا، في هذا الكتاب الهام، مسيرة أوزو وأسلوبه وفكره بعد أن عمل كمساعد له، لقد عمل أوزو لاستديوهات شوشيكو، ويشيد في هذا الكتاب بتميز أعمال أوزو وشعريتها، متطرقا إلى بداياته في السينما الصامتة وتقنياته السينمائية وأسلوبه في صناعة سينما مضادة.
