التنسيب هو جعل المريد ينتسب في الجمعيات السرية إلى إحدى هذه الجمعيات، بتدريبه على ممارسة طقوسها. وهو شائع منذ بدايات التاريخ لدى القبائل البدائية إلى أيامنا، كما في الماسونية والحلقات الصوفية وديانات الأسرار وغيرها. التنسيب هو ذاته طقس يفترض فيه أن المريد يموت لذاته ليعود إلى الحياة عندما يكون قد أتقن ممارسة طرق الجمعيات واطلع على أسرارها. وذلكم هو الوجد الصوفي. والتنسيب مراحل ودرجات الانتقال من الواحدة إلى الأخرى يستلزم أحيانا كثر من سنة.
